I have always felt driven towards painting and drawing winged figures, and this has in recent years developed into a fascination with birds.

I love the winged human figure as a symbol that is so comfortable and  familiar to us, but at the same time wildly fictional.

The obsession with birds is drawn from my interest in their social and secret lives, which I feel parallel that of humans.  I watch them from my window in the same way I watch passing people in the street.  I am also intrigued by the pattern, texture and colour of their feathers. They're an intricate and never-ending subject in their variety.
